Has anyone gotten RUN Magazine's GEOS Power Pak? before ordering. If anybody
has tried it, I'd appreciate his/her opinion.

Ralph,
I've got the original Power Pak. I understand that there's another one due
in the near future. I thought it was worthwhile. Side One is some useful
applications, and Side Two is fonts and clip-art photo albums.

Is this new one supposed to be a revision/update or a sequel/supplement? The
latest Power Pack ad describes geoTerm, CardFile, Thumbnail, geoOrganizer,
Pattern Editor, Convert 2.2, PaintView II, and several more--is this the
original? If so, should I wait for the "new, improved"? If you could tell me
more about geoTerm in particular I'd be obliged; the advertisement is skimpy on
details and I don't know anyone who has the program. Specifically: does it
have autodial and navigation files, or split-screen conferencing? What
download protocols does it support? (Lest ye think me rude, thank you for your
reply). Ralph

Ralph,
The new one is supposed to be a "sequel". It will, I believe, mainly have
all-new stuff. I think there will be a new geoTerm on it, tho. The current
geoTerm is very primitive, no autodial, no navigation, no split-screen, Xmodem
only. The one you describe is the first one, yeah.
For the sake of the other utilities, the original may well be worth having.
If the only thing on there that interests you is geoTerm, you might want to
wait.

Yes, pretty nice. Some programs required minor fixes, but worth it. The next
one should be good, too. BTW, If you have any feedback or questions for Joe
Buckley of PAINTVIEW fame or Randy Winchester of ANTI-GRAV, you can pass them
along through me. I see them each month at the user group meeting and sometimes
in between. If you have PC PURSUIT you can call our local BBS at (617) 862-5779
and leave a message for them also. Tony

From an authoritative source I have heard that GEOTERM PLUS will have Xmodem
CRC, 1K and Punter C1. Autodial with a phonebook, don't know about navigation,
but not sure what you mean. I am looking forward to getting it. PS, everything
on the new disk should work in 80 col. 128 also. Tony

Just going over my notes and thought of some more specifics. Most of the
programs will also run in 80 columns on the 128, but there are a couple of 40
column only programs. GEOTERM will have a 9K buffer, 40, 53, and 80 column
fonts, function keys and a built-in CONVERT utility. Joe Buckley will have a
couple of nice utilities on it, one of which will translate DOODLE!, KOALA,
RLE, MACPAINT into GEOPAINTS. Tony
